“Canada is forced to make due with second hand submarines from Britain, which some have dubbed “lemons” for their frequent breakdowns. The UK is forced to sell off half her Navy to pay for new aircraft carriers, and is desperately short of manpower to support NATO operations in Afghanistan. Other countries, like Sweden, Holland, and Belgium are having to choose between paying for social programs over hugely expensive defense establishments, and are compelled to cut the latter.”
