For those who may not be aware I'd like to let you know that the
modders who are responsible for RFB (sam & LukeFF) TMO (Ducimus)
RSRD (Lurker) are all exchanging info and cooperating at the following
site.

http://forum.kickinbak.com/index.php

As you can see from the following post they have seen the
subsowespac.org site and appreciate PTC participants as a user
community for realism and the Pacific Theater of Operations

 http://forum.kickinbak.com/viewtopic.php?t=407

With those common goals I think there might be a lot to gain in
advancing PTC into SH4 by some cross fertilization of the two group.
Feel free to drop into the modding forum and provide your thoughts and
feedback to the hard working modders there.

Thank you for the post.  I joined the forum today.  I also included an item for it on our links page.

Pacific Thunder - The Silent Hunter Campaign

We go to sea on diesel boats, they call us bubblehead.
Our blood is laced with diesel smoke, we’re sailors to the end.
Our diesels wind thru the salty brine until we take her deep.
Then we turn her loose on battery juice and we all go to sleep.
Diesel boats forever, hear the diving claxon sound.
Diesel boats forever, take her deep, take her down.

Hi there.

I noticed this site awhile ago (it was even linked to me in a PM once on the offical message boards), and as a community, it looks like it would have great potential although the activity here seems slow.  For the most part, i think most PTO fans would like a place to "call their own" so to speak.  The core of any community i think, is with mods.  As some folks like to say, "build it , and they will come".

To this end, ive had an idea.  I have thought about moving TM's "official" thread to this site, and then simply link to other forums such as the official forums and subsim.com to here.  What you'd have in effect is, active advertising, and it would certainly draw in more attention to subsowespac.org, or so  is my hope, but the general premise is to advertise for this site, and drum up possible community members.

However, it might be that, this could generate "unwanted attention" for lack of a better term, so i thought id simply post the idea, and see what you thought of it.

Ducimus,

The activity here has slowed down somewhat over the past year.  There are a lot of reasons for that, but the core of the Pacific Thunder Campaign community is still very strong.  Several of us are currently involved in looking for a way to use Silent Hunter 4 in the next Pacific Thunder Campaign (PTC VIII).  It is clear to me that we need to develop some mods which will facilitate that.  I am very grateful to you for your idea, and I very much agree that the core of a community is with the mods.  It would be an honor to cooperate with you by having TM's official thread on this forum.  I would also like to get you on board as a moderator and discussion leader.  Please feel free to contact me off-forum so we can work out the details.  I sent you a PM with my email address.  Thank you again for interest in our community and your great idea.

Just wanted to pop in and say i Hi.  Havent been by last few days as i've been rather busy working on an update to TM. I'd like to coordinate with other modders and see what they want to do as well before i make any firm deciisions, although if i was to make one offical thread and then link to it, in the other forums  this coming update would be a good time to do that as id like to take a wee break for a bit.  I keep saying there isn't much else for me to do, but i keep finding things.  logistically, its easier for make one thread and link to it rather then making two different threads and updating both.

edit: Time contraints forced me to go ahead and publish TM updates.  At any rate im gonna run the idea of an "ad campaign" by everyone.  Most people probably dont know this site exists.  I know that in sh3 the wolvesatwar.com site got alot of attention, im hoping that the same can happen for here in Sh4.

Do stop by in the kickenback forum and let folks know what you think.  I think many would be warm to the idea of a virtual sub campaign.

Good morning y'all. I'm Rockin Robbins, a denizen of http://forum.kickinbak.com and Subsim. I've been reading your strategy threads and participating in a discussion about this forum over at kickinbak. Although I'm not a modder, I have morphed into a bit of a strategy/TDC/manual targeting wonk, so maybe I can be useful around here. I'm the one to blame for the infamous Dick O'Kane targeting technique, among other debacles that you might find interesting. Usually I play with Trigger Maru, Run Silent Run Deep, and until recently, Natural Sinking Mechanics. I hate the keel zone below the boat though. Turns the game into an arcade game. I think the RFB crew is fixing up a decent sinking mod as a priority.

I hope subsowespac can get some more action going on here and I plan to be a part of it. As Subsim twists slowly in the wind, fleet boaters drowned in a sea of U-Boat fanboys, lots of fleet boaters will be looking for a home. My advice is to get ready for them. You should also seek them out by posting at Subsim that you have a fleet boat oriented site. Opportunity is knocking!

Does this forum have some kind of a problem with Firefox? I can't seem to make it work except in an IE tab.
