Problem:
I believe the report generator is working. The game is newly loaded so there are no completed patrols, if I select one I'm in right now, it appears to be loading in the right information, but there is no summary - I suspect it's because the patrol is still in progress.
The Toolbox is just blank, and if I select a field it tells me I need to select a mission, but there's no way to do this that I can find, I've even tried cut and paste - no go. So, the Toolbox does not seem to be working. The report generator appears to be working.
I'm running Vista 64-bit - is that possibly a problem? I've noticed that both of these programs specify 32-bit for an OS.
Solution:
It helps to read the instruction manual for Kim's great tool. With respect to the Tbox, it says "Choose the file you want to change - (you won't get anywhere before you do this!)."
When you open Tbox, you should see one or more files named "AutoSave_OnEnteringBase_1." If there are other saved game files, they should be numbered sequentially, e.g., AutoSave_OnEnteringBase_2, AutoSave_OnEnteringBase_3, etc.
Click on the file you want to change. The patrol objectives database will open in a new window. Select the appropriate mission. Also, make sure you have the latest version of the database ("PatrolAreas.txt") installed in your My Documents\SH4\data\cfg\SaveGames folder and that the "GamePath" variable in your configuration file points to the correct location for your Silent Hunter Wolves of the Pacific installation. For example: GamePath=C:\Program Files\Ubisoft\Silent Hunter Wolves of the Pacific.
Most 32-bit programs will install and work in a 64-bit Windows environment. For example, Kim's tools and Silent Hunter Wolves of the Pacific work well in both Windows 7 32X and 64X. By default, Windows 64-bit will install 32-bit programs in the "Program Files (x86)" folder. So if you are using Windows 64-bit you should adjust the "GamePath" variable discussed above accordingly. The report generator should be used after your patrol is completed so there is data for it to mine.

Problem:
When I open the report generator or the Tbox I get an error message that says "Invalid filename" or "is not a valid integer".
Solution:
The "GamePath" variable in your configuration file ("SHReport4_0.ini") has to point to where your Silent Hunter Wolves of the Pacific game is installed. For example: "GamePath=C:\Program Files\Ubisoft\Silent Hunter Wolves of the Pacific", (but without the quotes).

Problem:
After I started my career, I exited the office (and the game). When I open Kim's Tbox, I see a lot of files named "AutoSave_OnEnteringBase_1, AutoSave_OnEnteringBase_2, AutoSave_OnEnteringBase_3, etc." There are also some files named "AutoSave_OnLeavingBase_1, AutoSave_OnLeavingBase_2, AutoSave_OnLeavingBase_3, etc." How do I know which file to edit?
Solution:
Use Windows Explorer and look at the contents of your My Documents\SH4\data\cfg\SaveGames folder. You should see a series of folders named 00000000, 00000001, 00000002, etc.; check the date stamp for each folder. You are looking for the folder with the most recent date. Note its location in the list. If it is the first one, then you want to edit the first file in Kim's tool. If it is the third one, then you want to edit the third file in Kim's list. You get the idea. Each of these folders contains the saved career data for your patrols.

Problem:
I've been in touch with ComSubSchool, and have been getting the PTC 9 Cycles Mod set up on my machine. However, That's all I have info on, I don't know anything about using the ToolBox or any other accessories, are there instructions on these? I would like to familiarize myself with them in the Sub School.
Solution:
Everything you need to get up and running with Tbox is on the Submarine School Web Page. Also, read the Tbox instruction manual.
