Pearl Harbor FAQ

December 7, 2006 marks the 65th anniversary of the attack on Pearl Harbor.

Posted Wednesday November 8th, 2006

The FAQ publication linked below was issued by the Pearl Harbor Survivors Project.

This anniversary is a bit sublime because we are reminded that with each passing year more survivors pass away.

The youngest of the living Pearl Harbor survivors, those who were in their teens and early 20’s in 1941, are now in their early-mid 80's.

Every December 7, Pearl Harbor survivors and their families journey to the site of the attack to remember how their lives were changed that day.

Given the age of survivors, this year - the 65th Anniversary of Pearl Harbor - marks the last planned Survivors Summit, a reunion of survivors in Hawaii.

Thousands of Pearl Harbor survivors have already passed away. They are now unable to tell their stories. The Pearl Harbor Survivors Project is designed to help their families, friends and loved ones tell their stories for them.
